The U15 girls scored six goals and only gave up one this past weekend, as they earned a trip to the Minnesota State soccer tournament. Saturday, July 19, the River Eagles faced St. Louis Park in the first round of the district playoffs. The girls dominated the game, winning 3-1. Kasey, Hillary, and Sam all scored. On Sunday the girls faced Plymouth and came out on top with a shut out, winning 3-0. Olivia scored her first goal of the season, Kasey scored a penalty shot, and Ingrid also sent a winner to the net. With that win, the girls secured a number two seed in the state tournament, which takes place this upcoming weekend. The girls have had an awesome season, ending up 13-3-2, including tournament play. They have scored 41 goals this year, and only given up 16. Good luck to the team this weekend as they hope to continue their success at state!! They will face some of the best U15 C2 teams in Minnesota, but Coach Lewis is confident they will continue to play well.
